New Students
New students are scheduled for an initial one hour evaluation lesson. This allows our instructors to determine your level of horsemanship skills and riding knowledge. An evaluation lesson is $50 (a $20 savings!).
Beginner Lesson Program
Beginner students take at least one lesson per week to learn how to walk, trot, steer and stop a horse on their own. New riders will also learn how to groom, tack and care for the horse during their lesson time. Parents are welcome to assist their children.
Intermediant and Advanced ProgramRiders who wish to progress with their riding are welcome to ride in two or more lessons each week. Their instruction will include cantering and jumping courses.
Preparation of Horses
With instructors approval you may groom, tack, untack and care for your horse before and after your lesson on your own. Until you are able to do all of this on your own your lesson time will include the areas where you need assistance. Parents are welcome to assist their small children.
Instructors
At TLC you will find adult instructors who bring years of experience to the ring and are accomplished riders in their own right. Our instructors continue to participate in advanced lessons and clinics.
Our horses are privately owned and well trained at all levels. They are new rider oriented, but are more then capable to challenge the advanced rider. TLC's horses only work an hour a day and are happy with their jobs.
What do we do during the winter?For normal winter days we layer and ride in foot warmers. If it's to cold or windy for riding to be fun we take the fun inside! During bad weather, indoor ground lessons are offered allowing riders to learn equine anatomy, care, feeding, first aid, leg wrapping, massage and other horsemanship skills. Indoor lessons usually include hot chocolate and snacks!

Semi-private lessons
include two riders with like experience.
Group lessons
consist of small groups of 3 or more riders with like experience. Riders are evaluated on a regular basis to ensure they are in the proper level lesson.
Can I sign up any time?
Yes! If you join us
mid-month we'll be happy to prorate the monthly semester fee.
What if I have to miss a lesson?
As long as the instructor is notified by noon you will be allowed to make up the lesson or have a practice ride in lieu of a make up.
