What to Wear:
Campers should be ready to groom and ride upon arriving each morning.  They will be most comfortable in suitable riding pants (breeches, jodhpurs or jeans).

  • Cooler wear is suggested for unmounted activities.  Remember, they may get wet and dirty.  An extra change of clothes is a good idea.

  • Proper shoes include a hard soled, enclosed boot or shoe with a heel.  Campers will not be permitted to ride without the proper boots (no open toe, tennis shoes or sandals).

  • Children are required to have an ASTM approved riding or sports helmet with a harness that fits securely to their head.  We have a few helmets available for use.

  • Riding attire can be purchase one from Dover Saddlery in Gambrills, MD or you can visit them on line at www.DoverSaddlery.com

  • The Grey Pony offers an equestrian consignment shop in Highland, MD.  Visit them on line at www.GreyPony.com.

Summer camp at TLC Equestrian Center is a fun, active, and healthy place for children ages 6-15.  The days are spent in a relaxed, informal atmosphere where safety and fun are experienced hand in hand with horseback riding, hands-on-workshops, a mock horse show, trail rides, games and learning about the history and care of the horse.

One thing that sets us apart from other camps in the area is that ours is limited to a small number of riders.  We feel that our camp is special as each camper is assigned their own horse to ride and care for during the week.

Many of our campers are first time riders, others have been involved with a lesson program and are taking their equestrian education a step further.  All of our campers are instructed from the first day on how to safely work around a horse.

Hours
Camp hours are from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.  If you need assistance for early arrivals or late dismissals, we will be glad to help.  You may drop off as early as 8:30 a.m. for an additional fee $10 and pick up as late as 5:00 p.m. for an additional fee of $10.  The additional fee for extended care should be included in your camp tuition.
